How to Prepare Your Artwork for Cut to Shape

Custom shape magnets require a dieline — a cut path that tells us exactly how to cut your magnet. Here's everything you need to know.

1 What's a Dieline?

✓ A dieline is a vector outline that shows us where to cut your magnet
✓ It should be on a separate layer from your artwork
✓ The cut path should be a stroke (no fill) in a spot color named exactly "CUT"
✓ Set the stroke to "Overprint" in the Attributes panel
✓ Save as a high resolution PDF or AI file

Recommended Software

Adobe Illustrator is strongly recommended for creating dielines. The dieline must be a vector path — raster images (JPG, PNG) cannot contain dielines.

2 Design Tips & Examples

✓ Use large, smooth, rounded contours for best results
✓ Avoid small, sharp, or complex cuts — they may not cut cleanly
✓ Leave at least 1/8" (3mm) bleed beyond the cut line
✓ Keep text and important elements 1/8" inside the cut line

The minimum is 10 pieces per design. Per-sticker prices drop at 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 and beyond, and the price updates as you change the quantity.

What size can I order? ↓

Enter any width and height. Your price is set by the finished size, so a 3" x 3" sticker (9 square inches) prices on the "up to 9 sq in" band. For stickers over 50 square inches, contact us for a quote.

What file should I upload? ↓

A PNG with a transparent background works best, at 300 DPI. We also take JPG, PDF, AI, EPS and SVG. We cut around the outline of your art and send a free digital proof before anything prints.

Production takes 2 to 3 business days from proof approval. Standard shipping adds 3 to 7 business days within Canada. Need them sooner? Ask about rush orders or local pickup.
