Leather patches work best with bold, high-contrast designs. Fine text and intricate details engrave cleanly, but keep elements at least 1mm for optimal readability. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) produce the sharpest laser engraving results.

Leather patches are naturally durable and develop a rich patina over time. Avoid prolonged exposure to water or direct sunlight. Wipe clean with a dry cloth if needed. Heat-applied leather patches bond permanently when applied with a heat press. Sew-on patches can be stitched to virtually any fabric for a secure attachment.

We use genuine leather for all of our leather patches. Real leather has a natural grain, texture, and durability that synthetic materials can't replicate. Each patch develops a unique patina over time, giving it character. If you require a vegan alternative, please contact us to discuss options.

How does the laser etching process work? ↓

Our laser engraving machine uses a precision laser beam to etch your design directly into the leather surface. The laser burns away a thin layer of leather, creating a permanent, high-contrast mark. The result is a clean, detailed design that won't fade, peel, or wear off over time.

Absolutely — leather patches are one of the most popular hat customization options. They give caps and hats a premium, upscale look. Heat-applied backing works great for structured caps, and our sizes from 1.5" to 5" accommodate any hat style from snapbacks to trucker caps.

What leather colours are available? ↓

We offer three natural leather colour options: brown (classic, warm tone), black (sleek, modern look), and tan (light, natural finish). The laser engraving creates contrast against each colour — darker colours show a lighter etched area, and lighter colours show a darker burn.

Production takes 2–3 business days from proof approval. Add standard shipping (3–7 business days within Canada) and most orders arrive within a week. Express shipping is available at checkout.
